thanks to charlotte (another board member) i have been able to buy a couple of tickets for his show in brussels next year. i got all teary eyed... i think that
the way the audience behaves must have something to do with the venue as well, don't you think? he was originally going to play at the orangerie. i've
been to a few concerts there (martha wainwright, etc..) and it's always been painfully quiet. which is a good thing of course! now he's been moved to
cirque royal,...

Heehee, great picture. His shows SHOULD be quiet, and no he doesn't speak to the audience a lot. He's not showy, and knows we are there for his music.
His songs are amazing, and I'm sorry that you had those difficult times to get through. Yeah, that's why I wrote on this board to begin with, because I
waited so long to see him live again, and the audience could have been SO much better. But hopefully next time will be awesome. It's didn't taint my
love for him, only...

you guys all appear to have seen ray several times live. please excuse my ignorance... but, could someone tell me a bit more about his shows? are they very
quiet, does he speak to the audience? i listen to him on a daily basis. his songs have helped me go through an awful lot of difficult times. i wish i could see
him live one day, but i couldn't bare it if people were shouting things at him...

I totally agree! Hell yeah I'd scream I love you too, that wasn't the problem, it was, like you said, those who couldn't keep their mouths shut the
whole time, or kept getting up and moving around. I know other shows aren't like his, it's not like it's the first time I've been to a show.
But as I was saying, they shouldn't pull that %%%+ at Ray's show. Peace out. At least I got to see him!

Atlanta is a wonderful place to see shows...believe me, I've seen TONS here. However, Ray's shows are a much different experience than the average
artist/band. Ray's music requires the audience to be extremely respectful and quiet and some people just can't contain themselves. I guess that's
to be expected and I can deal with that. The women screaming, "We love you!" happens at ANY show. Keep in mind, this is the exact opposite of how
we act during any other...
